The 1986 film Vikram was a major milestone in Kamal Haasan’s career, and so his return to the big screen with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film with the same title is nothing short of a big deal for fans. The trailer of the 2022 film, which also stars big names like Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, was well received by the audience, and so was the music of the movie. Vikram is out in theatres now, and the reviews only confirmed what we were expecting—the film is a success. Haasan’s camaraderie with Sethupathi and Faasil, along with Kanagaraj’s ideation has received the stamp of approval from the audience.
Seeing Haasan back on the screen was a treat for his fans. As expected, fans are praising the actor’s action scenes and dialogue delivery. Faasil and Sethupathi, established actors in their own right, elevate the film. A bonus for the audience was seeing Suriya’s cameo in the film.
Here’s are some audience reactions:
Speaking about the film, Kanagaraj had earlier said, “I am here only because of Kamal sir. We are very happy with the way the film has turned out.” Talking about shooting the film, Haasan had revealed, “I got Covid because I was travelling around a lot. We made sure no one in the team was infected and took ample precautions,” he had added.
Vikram is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International. The film also features Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das in supporting roles. The soundtrack and the film score have been managed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.
