Certain reports in the media claimed that Liger will be releasing on an OTT platform and the makers of the film are currently considering a deal of ₹ 200 crores for a digital release and also for its satellite rights in all languages. Deverakonda set the record straight with a tweet that read, “Too little. It’ll do more in the theatres.”
The team had earlier decided to delay the release date of the teaser of the film due to the current Covid-19 situation in India. The team issued a statement to announce the news. “During these testing times, we hope you all are staying indoors and taking care of yourself and your loved ones.
We were all geared up to reveal a power-packed teaser for Liger on 9th May. However, due to the current scenario and environment that our country is facing, we have decided to postpone the same in the hope to share it with the world at a better time for us all,” the statement read.
The makers have earlier revealed that fans of Vijay Deverakonda will get to see him in a very different avatar in Liger. The first poster of the movie was unveiled in January this year. The film is slated to hit the theatres on September 9 and stars Ananya Panday in a pivotal role. The Pan-India fill will release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
