There were rumours doing the rounds online that Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah had halted the shoot of actress Vidya Balan’s upcoming film, Sherni, because she had refused to have dinner with him. Sherni, starring Vidya Balan, is currently being filmed in Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh.

 

The minister has now refuted all such reports and stated that the meeting was cancelled but the shoot was not.

 

“I was there (Balaghat) on request from those who took permission for the shoot and requested me for lunch or dinner. I said not possible now, I will meet them when I go to Maharashtra. Lunch or dinner was cancelled, the shoot was not,” the minister told the news agency, ANI.

Earlier, ANI had tweeted that the team of Sherni was stopped from entering a forest where they were shooting. “Vehicles of the production team of actor Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie were allegedly stopped from entering a forest for shooting. As per various media reports, it happened a day after the actor turned down Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah’s invitation for dinner,” the tweet read.

 

The Vidya Balan starrer, Sherni, has been facing controversy after controversy ever since it went on floors. On the 2nd of November, actor Vijay Raaz who is part of the movie was arrested after a female crew member accused him of molestation.

 

As of now, the 57-year-old actor has been released on bail and has been asked to appear before the investigation officer whenever needed.
