The 28th annual SAG Awards 2022 was a starry affair that took place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on February 28th, 2022. The award night saw some very obvious wins, some disappointing snubs and actors creating history. Shows like Ted Lasso, Squid Game, Succession that made a lot of noise last year were nominated in different categories. Actors like Kate Winslet, Michael Keaton, Will Smith were also in the list of nominees.
Netflix’s popular Korean show, Squid Game led the TV pack with three big wins, while Ted Lasso secured significant victories as well. Comedy-drama film CODA took home the highest honours, while the movie’s key star, Troy Kotsur, created history as he became the first deaf male actor to win a SAG award. Will Smith took home the best actor award for his role in King Richard, while Kate Winslet bagged the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for Mare of Easttown.
