Ryan Gosling As MCU’s New Ghost Rider? Yes Please

Earlier, he was picked to play Nova, but that project didn’t see the light of the day

The MCU is expanding at a fast pace and has a whole bunch of new shows and cast lined up in the pipeline. Needless to say, Ryan Gosling would be a great addition to the franchise and the actor has often expressed his wish to be part of it. Earlier, he was picked to play Nova, but that project didn’t see the light of the day. However that might change, with Kevin Feige recently indicating that Gosling could be the next Ghost Rider.

During an interview at Comic-Con with MTV News, Feige said, “Gosling’s unbelievable … Ryan’s amazing. I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice beach and he gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend, it’s amazing, the President of Marvel Studio , said, without clarifying if the action-fantasy is getting a reboot.

Ghost Rider made his first appearance in 2011 and 2017 with the Johnny Blaze-version, portrayed by Nicolas Cage. The character soon returned to screen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes. Since then, rumours have been making the rounds that Ghost Rider will be adapted again, and the audience has been hopeful about seeing The Spirit of Vengeance return.

Phase 4 of MCU includes the introduction of Mephisto — a character linked to Ghost Rider — opening the possibility of a new actor to taking up the role. While Feige’s statement didn’t mention casting anybody for the specific role, his positive response is indicative of the fact that we could be seeing Ryan Gosling in the MCU at some point in the future. Are fans happy to hear this? Yes, of course.
