RRR Bags Best Picture Nomination At Hollywood Critics Association Awards
‘RRR’ To Compete With ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ And ‘The Batman’ For Best Picture Title

RRR continues to create history…

RRR continues to be in the headlines and this time it is for a monumental nomination. The film has been nominated to compete against titles like Tom Crise’s Top Gun: Maverick and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman for the Best Picture title at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles.

The team of RRR reacted to this big news via a tweet. The team wrote, “Happy to see #RRRMovie nominated for Best Picture @HCACritics #RRR.” The other films nominated in this category are Cha Cha Real Smooth, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Northman, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Marcel The Shell with Shoes On, and Turning Red.

Well, not only in India but the SS Rajamouli directorial has been a huge deal in the West as well. Ever since the film’s release on Netflix, many Hollywood film-makers and other celebs have been talking about the film. The buzz was so huge that RRR was even back in theatres for the second time in the US.

RRR also surpassed the Rotten Tomatoes score of one of the highest-grossing films, Avengers: Endgame. Apart from RRR being included in their Best Films of 2022 list, it is almost on par with the superhero flick. The film is ranked at 46 with a 91 per cent critics rating, and 94 per cent audience rating. Avengers: Endgame, on the other hand, has 94 per cent in critics ratings and 90 in audience ratings.

The period drama also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in extended cameos. The final scenes of RRR do hint at a sequel, and just like with Baahubali, Rajamouli could roll out a second instalment of this film as well.
