Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, starring R Madhavan and Dia Mirza, might have been a flop at the box office, but people still talk about the film even after 20 years of its release back in 2001. Jackky Bhagnani has often expressed his desire to make a sequel of the film, and from the looks of it, a second part of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein might be happening soon. Rumours had it that Kriti Sanon was approached for the role of Mirza’s character earlier, and new reports suggest that Vicky Kushal might star alongside the Luka Chuppi actress in the sequel.

Sources close to the development told Pinkvilla, “They were on the lookout for fresh and unconventional casting, and that’s when the casting director suggested the names of Sanon and Kaushal. Both the actors are keen to do the film, and the modalities in terms of the financials and dates for the shooting schedule are being worked upon at the moment. The idea is to go on the floors by end of 2022.”

While Kaushal and Sanon’s pairing would be quite fresh, there are some really talented actors that we would like to see stepping in the shoes of Madhavan’s character. From Ranveer Singh to Ranbir Kapoor, here’s who can pull off the charming role in the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel:

Vicky Kaushal

Remember Kaushal from Raazi? The role of the adorable husband played by the actor is by far the most charming character we have seen on screen. RHTDM requires such energy, and we think Kaushal will be able to put out the required emotions on the screen really well. 

Ranbir Kapoor

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani not only worked at the box office because of the story, but it was the romance between Deepika Padukone and Kapoor’s character that made the film extra special. The Barfi actor is a suitable fit for Madhavan’s role in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel because if anyone can pull off such a difficult character with ease, it has to be Kapoor. 

Ranveer Singh

Singh is a chameleon, and we very well know that he can portray any given character effortlessly. While fans love to see him in an action avatar, Singh does romance like no other. He can bring fresh changes to this character, and we think that would be quite amusing to watch. 

Shahid Kapoor

If Kabir Singh taught us one thing, it was that you can expect the unexpected from Shahid Kapoor. The actor is a suitable fit for the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel because his films like Ishq Vishk, Vivaah prove that he can pull off such a role with ease. 

Avinash Tiwary 

Tiwary might be a few films old, but he has already proved his talent with films like Laila Majnu and the recently released The Girl On The Train. The actor is a fresh face, and has managed to stun the audience with all his performances till now, so it will be fun to see his take on Madhavan’s character from Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.  

Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein was produced by Vashu Bhagnani, and its sequel is being backed by his son. Director Ravi Udyawar, of Mom fame, has been approached to work on the film.
