Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty starrer Hera Pheri franchise is considered a cult classic. The first two parts of the film were a huge success at the box office and had received massive love from the audience as well. A third part of the franchise film has been in demand ever since then. There have been many reports suggesting that the film will happen but no concrete information about the same has been shared yet. Rawal, however, has finally shared a major update about the film.

Talking to Indian Express, Rawal said, “They are trying to work it out. Hopefully, by the end of this year, you will get good news.” The film will mark Kumar, Rawal and Shetty’s reunion after almost 15 years. Earlier back in May 2018, it was reported that Indra Kumar would be directing the third part of the franchise film. In 2019, it was confirmed that the story would pick up from where it was left off in Phir Hera Pheri.
“I’m happy that the favourite trio is coming back together. We start the film towards the end of this year. It’s currently being scripted,” Kumar had said in an interview. He had also revealed that the film will be heavy on VFX this time. However, things did not work out for Kumar and the original helmer of the film, Priyadarshan, was roped back in as the director for Hera Pheri 3.
Meanwhile, Priyadarshan and Paresh Rawal worked on the comedy film Hungama 2 together. Also starring Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Meezaan Jafri and Pranitha Subhash, the film is a sequel to 2003 comedy hit Hungama. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever and Tiku Talsania. The first part of the film starred Rawal, along with Shoma Anand, Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, and Rimi Sen in lead roles.
