August seems to be an exciting month for OTT show releases. It is a mixed bag of a lot of genres. Right from the Marvel universe to the Game of Thrones warfare, a lot of exciting projects are going to start streaming soon. Here is a list of the most anticipated releases of August this year:
The Sandman
Based on Neil Gaiman’s comic book, The Sandman, this multi-season epic will start streaming from August 5 on Netflix. The story is about an escapee Morpheus who is a personification of a dream. The story of his escape and regaining power is just the starting of the tale.
Crash Course
This might remind people of Jitendra Kumar and Kota Factory. Starring Annu Kapoor, Crash Course is a series about how students are facing the wrath of coaching institutes. For these institutes, it is just a money-making mechanism but for the students, it is where their dreams take shape. The series will start streaming from August 5, on Amazon Prime Video.
I Am Groot
The seedling from Guardians of the Galaxy is getting its first solo series this year. It will start streaming from August 10 on Disney+Hotstar. This 6-episode-long animated series will not only have Groot but a few other new characters as well. The cast has actors like Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
Indian Matchmaking Season 2
Indian matchmaker Sima Taparia is returning to the screens with the second season of Indian Matchmaking. This 8 episode-long series will start streaming on Netflix on August 10. Taparia helps find millennials their perfect match from across the globe using her matchmaking skills and techniques.
Never Have I Ever Season 3
After a successful run of two seasons, the third season of Never Have I Ever will stream on Netflix from August 12. The show is about an American teenager Devi, which takes the viewers through her high school life, cultural clashes and complicated love life.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
Just like Ms Marvel, now the world will meet She-Hulk. Played by Jennifer Walters, she is the cousin of Bruce Banner who is the first Hulk. She is a lawyer who helps the cases of superhumans. This also would touch upon her personal life and how she juggles between being a professional and a hulk. This 8-episode series will start streaming on August 17 on Disney+ Hotstar.
House of The Dragon
This is the most anticipated and awaited series of 2022. The prequel of the show Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon will start streaming on August 21 on Disney+ Hotstar. This will take the audience 200 years before the Game of Thrones, and make them witness the downfall of the Targaryen.
Delhi Crime Season 2
The Emmy award-winning show Delhi Crime is back with another season. The show will see Shefali Shah in the lead role, who would be seen solving a high-profile case which involves both the biggies of the city and the scapegoats. This will start streaming on August 26 on Netflix.
