On International Women’s Day, singer Justin Bieber shared a post on Instagram that commemorated the holiday, and he also reflected on his past understanding of women.
“I know I have been naive and haven’t been empathetic toward women in the past and have overlooked their struggles,” he admitted in the statement. “I am learning everyday beside my wife as I see all of the struggles she faces that I will never have to face.”

He further added, “I am committed to being better and more aware of the struggles women face that men never will!!”
Bieber concluded the post by calling women “superheroes” who “deserve to be celebrated today and every day.”
This isn’t the first time Bieber’s taken to Instagram to post a message that’s important to him. Earlier this year, he opened up about his 2014 arrest and what he learned from the experience: “7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour…Don’t allow shame to ruin your ‘today’.”
He shared a photo from the day of his arrest and confessed that he isn’t proud of where he was at the time. “I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god,” he said. Justin went on to joke that he was also wearing too much leather for someone in Miami. “All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then until now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now. My encouragement to you is to let your past be a reminder of how far God has brought you,” Justin pondered.
