Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a journey so far. With several hits and some misses, fans are always eager to know what the makers are surprising them next with. Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel was next on the list. The fact that she is MCU’s first Muslim superhero had everyone excited for the mini-series already, but with the first episode now out, fans are relieved that the series is as good as it sounded.
Vellani plays the role of Kamala Khan, a younger 16-year-old teenager growing up in a brown family. She is obviously the rebel kid, obsessed with everything Marvel, and looks up to Captain Marvel as her hero. The first episode is a journey of how she discovers her powers and the viewers are left in anticipation to know how she gains control over it.
In all, the first episode was a huge success, as suggested by the pool of tweets posted for the show online. Muslim and Asian MCU fans feel represented, while others are just in awe of the flawless direction. Fawad Khan and Farhan Akhtar are also a part of the show, so many fans are even eager to see them in it. Twitter was buzzing with such posts, indicating that the show has been received well by them.
Here’s what people are talking about:
Apart from Iman Vellani, the miniseries also star numerous Asian and American actors including Mohan Kapur, Nimra Bucha, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman and Travina Springer.
Kapur will be playing the hugely important role of her father, Yusuf. His wife Muneeba and son Aamir in New Jersey are played by Zenobia Shroff and Saagar Shaikh, respectively. The new series will be available in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages.
The second episode of Marvel Studio’s series will release next Wednesday, June 15. There’s just one episode a week for Ms Marvel.
