After marking a striking Bollywood debut with Super 30, Mrunal Thakur established herself in the industry. She was roped in to essay a key role in Toofaan and has many promising projects in her kitty ahead. Adding to her already busy lineup is her film with South star, Dulquer Salmaan.

Thakur is all set to mark her Telugu debut with a romantic film starring Salmaan. The makers of the film unveiled the first character look of the actress. She will be essaying the role of Sita in the film which is set in an army backdrop. Salmaan will be essaying the role of Lieutenant Ram in the film.

The poster was unveiled to mark Thakur’s birthday on July 29. She can be seen donning a green saree in the motion poster whereas Salmaan can be seen taking her picture. The makers reportedly wrapped up a major schedule of the film in Kashmir recently.

Dulquer Salmaan shared the poster on Twitter and wrote, “Proud to Introduce @mrunal0801 as Sita. Happy birthday Sita garu..u will conquer hearts. Have the best day and year !!!” The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The makers are yet to finalise the title of the film.

Mrunal Thakur was last seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Toofaan. The film had to opt for an OTT release due to the pandemic. Talking about the same, the actress told HT, “I’m an actor right now, and my first agenda is meri film bikti isiliye hai kyunki log dekhte hain. But their health is paramount and I’m not going to risk my family and neither do I want my audiences’ families to risk and go to theatres.”

 

“We haven’t conquered it. We have vaccination and things are getting under control, but not completely. As an entertainer, a person who belongs to this industry, I believe first and foremost thing is that audience rahegi, unki health achhi rahegi, toh woh film dekhenge,” she added.
