While Karan Johar’s magnum opus, Takht, is currently finding it hard to see the light of the day, the film-maker has moved on to make another film with the stars of this film. Johar will be uniting with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh for a romantic flick, which has reportedly been titled Prem Kahani.

A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers were on the lookout for a quirky yet relatable title and that’s when they zeroed in on Prem Kahani. The film is essentially a love story of two completely opposite characters, and the audience will get a glimpse of vintage Karan Johar, whose films at one point, were just meant to spread happiness, and take the audience in a fairy tale world.” The filmmaker has given Bollywood some of its biggest hits like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and My Name Is Khan.
The pre-production of the film is said to have started already started. Once the entire crew is vaccinated, the first schedule of the film will be kicked off. “It’s all work in progress with set designing and other aspects being looked after in isolation. The music settings have also begun, as being a romantic saga, there lies ample scope for good music,” the source stated.
Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh had earlier come together for the blockbuster hit, Gully Boy, which earned plaudits for its depiction of the underground hip-hop culture in Mumbai. The film went on to win multiple awards and made a star out of actor Siddhant Chaturvedi who has bagged several big-budget movies following his debut.
Johar last directed the 2016 tragic love story, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which starred Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. His next venture was going to be Takht which will star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Bhatt and Singh.
