After a month-long trial, Johnny Depp finally won the defamation case against Amber Heard, and is now making the most of his time. Soon after the last day of the hearing, Depp was seen performing live on the stage for his fans. Now, the actor is expanding his social media reach. Depp is finally on Tik Tok and his ex is not very impressed about it.
Depp officially joined TikTok a few days ago and has even gained millions of followers on the app. He posted his first video on the app recently where he talked about moving forward. Sharing a montage of himself greeting his supporters outside the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse, he thanked each one of them.
He wrote, “To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. Now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”
Heard came across the video and made sure she shared her take on it. Her spokesperson stated, “As Johnny Depp says he’s moving forward, women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is… be afraid to stand up and speak out.”
Depp won the defamation case, with Heard now liable to pay the star a sum of $15 million in damages. The jury also ruled in favour of Heard, keeping in mind the accusations she made against Depp. She was awarded $2 million in damages. Johnny Depp had an emotional moment after the verdict was announced and he took to Instagram to thank everyone for their support.
In 2018, Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard after she wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post. She had talked about domestic abuse and called herself a survivor. The duo got married in 2015 and later divorced in 2017.
