Maverick is back and it seems like he’s better than ever. At the recent CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, select audience members and film critics were given the opportunity to see the upcoming Top Gun sequel ahead of its release. Some of them took to Twitter to share their first impressions, and boy do they seem impressed.
Top Gun: Maverick was initially given a release date of July 12, 2019, which was then pushed by a year to “allow the production to work out all the complex flight sequences”. However, the movie was pushed a couple of more times due to the Covid crisis, before getting a release date of May 27, 2022.
It is only natural that many were sceptical about the film’s performance given the delay. But with first reactions flooding in on the internet, it looks like our worries were unfounded. Those who attended the premiere are calling it the best Tom Cruise movie in a decade, with some even describing it as better than the original!
Yes, those are some very high praises. And while we have to wait for four weeks for Maverick to take us to the danger zone again, here’s what the internet has been saying about the movie.
