Chicken Tikka Masal might be one of the most ordered dishes in India, but little did we know that Hollywood megastar, Tom Cruise, is also a fan of the dish. The actor, who is currently shooting for an upcoming project in Birmingham, UK, visited Asha Bhosle’s restaurant named Asha’s yesterday (August 23) and order Chicken Tikka Masala for a meal. The actor loved it so much that he ordered it twice.

The official Instagram page of the restaurant shared a picture with the star and revealed in the caption, “Tom (Cruise) ordered our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and enjoyed it so much that as soon as he had finished, he ordered it all over again.” Asha’s (Birmingham) has earlier had the opportunity to serve celebrities like Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones.
India’s beloved veteran singer, Asha Bhosle, also took to social media to acknowledge Cruise’s visit to her restaurant and invited him to visit again. She wrote, “I was very happy to hear that Mr Tom Cruise enjoyed his fine dining experience at Asha’s (Birmingham). I look forward to him visiting us again soon!”
While netizens could not believe that Cruise visited an Indian restaurant, reports in Daily Mail suggested that the actor was indeed spotted at Grand Central shopping centre and Birmingham’s Bullring. He was shooting with co-star Hayley Atwell for Mission: Impossible 7. Express.co.uk also published a report saying that the actor was seen in the same clothes as in the photo posted by the official Instagram page of the restaurant when he was spotted at Grand Central.
Earlier it was said that the shooting of the 8th instalment of the franchise will see some changes post the pandemic. Deadline had reported, “As Mission: Impossible 7 nears completion after a remarkable globetrotting pandemic-era shoot, the plan to shoot the franchise’s eighth edition back-to-back has been altered by Paramount.”
This is simply down to the shifting release calendar. Tom Cruise will now be needed on promotional duties by the studio for Top Gun: Maverick ahead of that film’s planned release on July 2, and will be out of action for a period. Once that film has rolled out – hopefully to packed cinemas in a post-Covid world – production on MI: 8 can begin, meaning the gap shouldn’t be too impactful.”
