Buckle up, action movie lovers! Everyone’s favourite secret agent has returned for yet another high-stakes, save-the-world adventure. After it was leaked online, the offical trailer for the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One has been released online, and it has Tom Cruise performing some death-defying stunts yet again.

The movie, which is slated for release on July 14th, 2023, has been in production for many years. However, the principal photography was halted for months due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.

Nevertheless, our first look into Ethan Hunt’s new adventure shows Tom Cruise being told that his fighting days for the greater good are now over, with several montages of locations and recurring characters being played in the background. Speaking of which, the brief 2.16-minute trailer also confirms the return of Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Benji (Simon Pegg) among others.

What’s interesting here is that Henry Czerny will reprise his role as Kittridge, who was last seen in the first Mission Impossible movie that came out in 1999. Also new to the cast are two Marvel members—Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Part 2). Joining them will be Shea Whigham (American Hustle), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), and Mark Gatiss (Sherlock).

The seventh installment of the Mission: Impossible series will be split into two parts, with the second one planned for 2024. Both movies will be written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who’s previously worked with Cruise on 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Fallout, Edge of Tomorrow and Jack Reacher.

Of course, it wouldn’t really be a Mission: Impossible movie without Tom Cruise jumping off a cliff with a motorcycle, a high-octane chase sequence in a car and the 59-year old actor doing his iconic sprint.

Tom Cruise has been on a high in recent weeks, with Top Gun: Maverick scoring rave reviews among critics. As far as the Mission: Impossible franchise is concerned, the anticipation is at an all-time high. Here are some of the reactions fans shared on Twitter.
