Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship recently hit a rough patch, and the news was as shocking as their engagement announcement. The couple had been dating for four years, and the two decided to take the plunge and got engaged in 2019. The relationship was rock solid until recently when rumours surfaced online that Lopez might be having second thoughts about the relationship. Fans were upset to learn that the lovebirds might split up but J-Rod has now assured nothing of that sort is happening.

“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” read the joint statement issued by the couple’s representatives. Like any relationship, they have ups and downs and are trying to work it out, revealed the source. Looking back at the whole fiasco, we think the couple is handling the situation quite maturely. It all started when cheating rumours between the baseball player and Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy surfaced online back in January 2020.
It was during Southern Charm’s January reunion when cast member, Craig Conover, accused LeCroy of cheating on then-boyfriend Austen Kroll. He said that the actress has cheated on Kroll with a Miami-based “ex-MLB player.” Host Andy Cohen shared that the man was “married” and “very famous,” and fans speculated that it was Rodriguez. The Southern Charm actress went on to address the rumours, and told Page Six that Rodriguez is “just an acquaintance,” and that they have spoken on the phone but never met in person.
Lopez did not react to the whole fiasco back then, but an insider told E!News, “JLo will soon begin working on her movie in the Dominican Republic. Everything is fine with Alex. She doesn’t let the cheating rumours get to her and chooses not to pay attention.” This happened back in February and a month later, the whole break up rumour started to headline the news. Page Six quoted a source saying, “The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it.”
However, within a day of these rumours, J-Rod decided to shun the false reports and issued the statement. A source revealed to Entertainment Tonight, “They are so connected both romantically as a couple, and as a family with their kids, and these rumours wouldn’t break that,” the source said. “Jennifer isn’t bothered and doesn’t care about the Alex and Madison rumours. She thinks it’s outside noise and trusts Alex. She’s so in love with him.”
