Captioning the post, the musician wrote, “#worldbreastfeedingweek (world breastfeeding week) we arrived just in time!” also using a white heart emoji in the middle.
In the shot, the mother-baby duo is outdoors, Halsey looks away from the camera, sporting a mauve top with a palm tree print, sunglasses and a baseball hat while baby Ender sports a purple t-shirt and motif bottoms.
The theme this annum for World Breastfeeding Week is “Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility,” as announced by the World Health Organization. In a joint statement to WHO, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore and WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus outlined a renewed commitment in striving to ensure parents feel they have safe environments to breastfeed. They want to extend their efforts to the workspace and try to make sure parents feel supported by employers to have parental leave during those crucial first months together. Education on breastfeeding alternatives is consistently and clearly made public also makes it to the list of priorities this year.
Halsey welcomed baby Ender with partner Alev Aydin this July. The first-time parents took to Instagram to share the news of the birth.
The singer wrote “Gratitude. For the most “rare” and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin, 7/14/2021,” sharing two monochromatic images, the second breastfeeding.
While partner Aydin shared this post:
Earlier this year, the pregnancy was made public, also through Instagram.
Very close to the birth, Halsey had announced their furth studio album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. ‘This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth,” read part of the statement. It is expected to be available on August 27.
