When 'Gadar's Action Director Tinu Verma Slapped And Fired Kapil Sharma
‘Gadar’ Action Director Tinu Verma Talks About Slapping Comedian Kapil Sharma

Quite a revelation…

Not many know that before Kapil Sharma became a comedian, he used to juggle between small roles in shows and films. He had shot for Sunny Deol’s iconic movie Gadar- Ek Prem Katha but never made it to the screen. Shedding light on what happened, the movie’s action director Tinu Verma said that he was unhappy with him at that time.

In a conversation with veteran actor Mukesh Khanna who is known for his role in Shaktimaan for his YouTube channel, Verma said he had slapped Sharma and fired him. He explained that this was the scene where the cast and crew of almost 25,000 people were shooting. They all had to run toward a train but Sharma ran in the opposite direction. Then he called him and explained what he had to do and blamed him for the scene being re-shot.

Again, everyone got ready and as soon as the director said action, Sharma ran in the wrong direction. A fuming Verma went up to Sharma and slapped him and yelled at him to get out.

When in 2021, Sunny Deol had gone to the Kapil Sharma Show as a guest, Sharma told him that he deliberately pulled that stunt off. He said that if he would have ran with the crowd, he would not have gotten the spotlight, which he did when he did exactly the opposite. When Deol heard this, he was shocked and said that he didn’t even know that Sharma was a part of the film at that time.

The 40-year-old comedian is busy these days with his tour in USA and Canada. He had shared about this on his social media in March 2022. He also did a solo Netflix special named I’m Not Done Yet, which is a one-hour-long stand-up comedy where he takes the audience through his life, success and struggles. He will also be seen as a food delivery rider in Nandita Das’s next film for which he shot in Orrisa.

Verma is a veteran of the industry who has worked in movies like Raja Hindustani, Himmat, Khuda Gawah and Kachche Dhaage, among others. His role in the 2000’s Mela as the shirtless villain is something everyone knows about.
