The game is afoot, again! Yesterday, Netflix shared the first look images of its upcoming movie, Enola Holmes 2. The sequel to the 2020 film which stars Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, and Louis Partridge in the lead, is set to release on November 4, 2022.
While it’s difficult to make the exact plot details out of just first-look images, here’s what the official plot synopsis reads, “Enola’s newest adventure begins after a young girl working in a match factory hires her to locate her missing sister. Before long, Enola finds herself drawn into a high-stakes chase across London, journeying from the city’s seedy industrial underbelly to the glitzy galas of high society.”
The images also show Enola being reunited with her mother, whose disappearance was the central plot of the last movie. Lastly, it appears that Henry Cavill might have a more extended appearance in the sequel, as Enola’s brother and everyone’s favorite detective – Sherlock Holmes.
Helming the movie once again will be Emmy and BAFTA-winner, Harry Bradbeer, who’s previously worked on Fleabag, Killing Eve, and Ramy. Meanwhile, the screenplay will be written by Tony Award winner Jack Thorne, who’s credited for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and The Aeronauts.
Apart from the above-mentioned names, the sequel will also feature new additions to the cast, including David Thewlis (Wonder Woman), Adeel Akhtar (Sweet Tooth), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune), Abbie Hern (The Twilight Zone), Hannah Dodd (Fighting with My Family), Gabriel Tierney (Endeavour), and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss.
While we wait for the official trailer, which is due any day now, here’s what the internet has been saying about the sequel.
