Priyanka Chopra is back in Bollywood, and has been confirmed as the female lead in Salman Khan starrer Bharat which will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
PeeCee confirmed the news in a statement saying, “Bharat it is! I’m looking forward to begin shooting this film and working with Salman and Ali again after a considerable time. I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer. I’m also looking forward to working with Alvira and Atul (Agnihotri, Salman’s sister and brother-in-law and film’s producers) and the entire team of Bharat. To all my well-wishers who’ve been so patient and supportive… thank you for your constant support and I’ll see you all at the movies.”
The film is slated to release on Eid 2019, according to a tweet by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Before this, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan were seen in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, God Tussi Great Ho and Salaam E Ishq. We think that they share great chemistry together, and the film should be a blockbuster given Zafar’s track record with Salman Khan movies (both Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai were blockbusters).
The film is going to be a remake of a Korean film called Ode To My Father and there will be a lot of expectation from Ali Abbas Zafar to deliver another blockbuster. “Success pushes me to work even more hard. Everything now will create more anticipation, we will have to pull our socks up and work harder to meet those expectations. But when a film releases and you detach yourself from it, you can see the film more analytically and understand what worked and what didn’t. That is a big learning exercise which always happen when you watch the film three-four months after its release,” he said in an interview with Hindustan Times.
