As 90s kids, we’ve all endured some terrible Bobby Deol movies like Chor Machaaye Shor. We weren’t exceptionally sad when he faded away into oblivion. His comeback movie Poster Boyz too came and went without many people noticing.
However, now the 50-year-old Bobby has done something that’s hard to ignore. He has hit the gym hard, and shown the world that he is ready for a successful comeback.
Earlier this year, Bobby Deol had given a very emotional interview to Huffington Post, where he spoke about his fall from grace. “I didn’t even realize when my career started slipping away. You usually don’t. Work slows down and before you know it, you are sitting at home more than hanging out on film sets. I used to ask myself: What’s wrong with you, Bobby? Why aren’t you getting work? Add to it the speculations and stories people spin around you,” he had said.
Everybody deserves a second chance, and Bobby too looks like he is ready to make up for lost time. He may not get lead roles, considering he doesn’t guarantee a great opening (people tend to run away from a Bobby Deol film), but if he makes a mark playing supporting roles, things can change for the better. And he isn’t averse to it himself.
“People here think I’m Dharmendra’s son, I used to be a big star so I’ll still prefer to do only starry roles. No, man. I am chill. Give me a good character role and I’ll be as good as I used to be. I feel no shame in asking for work. Why should anyone?,” he had said in the same interview.
It’s not like Bobby Deol has done only bad films. We liked him in Gupt and Nanhe Jaisalmer, but yes, it goes without saying that he needs to up his acting game as well (not just his physique).
