After a lot of teasing, Beyoncé is back with her seventh studio album titled, Renaissance. She released her new album on Friday (July 29) via Columbia Records and Parkwood Entertainment. “Act 1” of Queen B’s new album includes 16 tracks, including some amazing guest appearances for multiple songs.
BEAM has collaborated with the pop star on a song titled Energy. Grace Jones and Tems have teamed up with her on the song Move. Jay-Z , Drake, Skrillex, The-Dream, Syd, Lucky Daye, Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, Nija Charles, 070 Shake and a few more artists have been given writing and producing credits for the album as well.
Talking about Renaissance on her official website, the queen wrote, “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”
“It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration,” Beyoncé added.
The project includes other songs like Break My Soul. The song peaked at No. 7 position on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her 20th solo top 10 hit on the chart. Renaissance also marks her first solo album after 2016’s Lemonade.
