There has been a lot of fire and brimstone going around on social media ever since the now-infamous Republic TV interview where actress Kangana Ranaut took on the Bollywood film industry and ended up calling actresses Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker “B-grade actresses”.

Like many in the film industry, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has supported Bhasker and Pannu and while Kashyap stated that he and Ranaut used to be friends, he no longer knows “the new Kangana”.

In an interview with NDTV, Kashyap stated that he and Ranaut enjoyed a close friendship but things have soured since the filmmaker and Pannu laughed about a query regarding Ranaut during their 2018 Manmarziyaan promotions.

“Kangana was hurt by that,” said Anurag Kashyap, adding, “I am saying okay, if you are hurt by that, I will apologize for that. That’s what friends do. But she has gone on to a mode where ‘If are not with me you are my enemy'”.

“It is all becoming so accusatory,” Anurag Kashyap told NDTV after Ranaut described Pannu and Bhasker as chaploos or sycophants in a second interview.
