There is official confirmation from the sets and team of Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That, Carrie Bradshaw and Mr Big are together and happy for at least some part of the show.
This is the first glimpse we are seeing of these four characters, 11 years after the last movie, Sex and the City 2, that comes to us from the Emmys. In the quick video, we first see Sarah Jessica Parker (the lead, as Carrie Bradshaw) with Cynthia Nixon (playing Miranda Hobbes), Kristin Davis (playing Charlotte York Goldenblatt) turning around, Bradshaw waving to someone.
Then there is a cut to the central couple in the kitchen, the two first in an embrace and then kissing.
Earlier, an allegedly leaked script had hinted at a rift between Mr Big (Chris Noth) and Bradshaw. It was not far-fetched for the couple to have ended things yet again, as they have many a time in the past. The two may be a fan favourite, but they sure are problematic.
It also indicated that the writer now made podcasts.
There is also speculation that a character is going to be killed off from the show in the very first episode, who almost certainly is Noth’s character.
And Just Like That will feature Carrie and her pals as they go through life, now as glamourous 50-year-olds. The show still seems to be circling themes of friendship and relationship troubles. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on the original HBO series and two films, decided to not return to the character amid rumours of a feud between her and Parker, 56.
Based on the book by author Candace Bushnell, Sex and the City revolves around the fashion-obsessed relationships columnist Carrie and her three friends, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. It first aired in 1998 and ran for six seasons, winning seven Emmys and eight Golden Globe awards.
