Brahmastra is clearly one of the most anticipated films of 2019. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar (do you need any more proof that it’s going to be a hit?), the fantasy film will star Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia, Divyendu Sharma and Mouni Roy in lead roles.
Here’s the recently released logo of the film:
The film has been announced as a trilogy with the first part being released on 25th December of this year.
While Ranbir Kapoor plays Shiva, a man with special powers, Bhatt plays a woman named Isha. The film’s logo was revealed by 150 drones at Kumbh during Mahashivratri.
Oh and also, Ayan Mukerji is now on Instagram.
Back to the story – the film’s name derives itself from the weapon, Brahmastra which is the all-powerful weapon of Lord Brahma, the creator of the Universe according to Hindu texts. The weapon is the alpha and the omega of weapons. “It’s a modern-day film set in India as it exists today. But the reason it’s called Brahmastra is that the energies, wisdom, powers in the film come from ancient India. That’s all I would say. There are some costumes, maybe not the way you’d expect them to be,” Mukerji had said last year while describing the film, reports the Hindustan Times.
“It is actually a supernatural romantic fairy tale at heart. Ayan (film’s director Ayan Mukerji) will never make a character that doesn’t have truth to it, or which is unbelievable. It’s too early to talk about the film, but it is something I am terribly excited about,” Kapoor had added.
