With films like Fandry and Sairat to his name, there was a lot of expectation pinned on Magraj Manjule when he announced his film Jhund . Reuniting with his Sairat cast, Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, Manjule has worked with Amitabh Bachchan for the first time in this film. From the trailer to the magic that Ajay-Atul have created with their music, Jhund has already been declared a hit by fans. Now, Aamir Khan’s review confirms this.
Aamir Khan watched the film before its release on March 4, and was teary-eyed by the end of it. “It has happened for the first time that a film has received a standing ovation during a private screening. I don’t have words to say. The way you have captured the emotions of girls and boys of India, it’s unbelievable. It’s a very unique film, pata nai kaise bann gayi tum logon se (I don’t know how you managed to pull this one off…),” he said.
He went on to praise the children who worked in the film and tagged it one of the greatest films done by Bachchan. “The way the children have worked is unbelievable. I don’t have any words, because it is a very surprising film. Jo kuch humne seekha hai 20-30 saalon mein wo sab…uska football bana diya! ( Whatever we have learnt in the past two-three decades while making movies, you have made a football out of that whole thing!)
What a film. My God. Bohot hi behtareen film hai (it’s an excellent film). What work he (Bachchan) has done! He has done great films in his career. But this is one of his best films. One of his greatest films,” Aamir Khan added.
