For an immersive experience of art and print making, Project 88 is hosting an exhibition of prints featuring graphic artwork by stalwarts like Gaganendranath Tagore, Mukul Dey, Ramkinkar Baij and Rani Chanda, among others. Tied together by their Bengali upbringing, the Bengal School of Art and the Tagore family, the artists’ works address questions concerning Indian modernity. Their use of mechanical printing draws from local technologies as well as those from the West. Ranging from lino-cuts to lithographs, the prints ask viewers to consider the materiality of the work and reflect upon the history of the print-making process. The exhibition is on till the 16th of June.
