If you haven’t watched this Oscar-nominated film, you are definitely missing out on a breathtaking experience – and the film’s music has a lot to do with that, especially the also-nominated songs by Sufjan Stevens, Mystery of Love and Visions of Gideon. Haunting and complex, Stevens was able to create the perfect ballads for a gut-wrenching summer romance between two men, set in lazy Italy in the 1980s. The eclectic OST also includes some obscure European pop, compositions by Ryuichi Sakamoto and the fantastic disco dance number, Love My Way, by The Psychedelic Furs.
