Will Kylian Mbappe Support Real Madrid In Champions League
Will Kylian Mbappé Root for Real Madrid After PSG Exits Champions League?

Is the end of Project Mbappe in Paris?

It was a rather damp end to Project Kylian Mbappe in Paris as PSG bowed out of the Champions League with a meek show against Borussia Dortmund at Parc des Princes, failing to find a target in 180 minutes of the game across two legs.

Mbappe, who had played his last European game for PSG, struggled to exert a major influence on the proceedings, and the frustration was quite visible in his post-match interview. He has won multiple domestic titles with the Parisian club, but the European glory still eludes him.

"I don’t know if they were better than us, but there’s no need to put down the opponent. In my humble opinion, they were better than us in both boxes," said Mbappe after the game. "Everyone will analyse it, but the truth is that they attacked us once or twice and scored and we entered their box several times and didn’t score. It’s impossible to ignore this. I don’t like talking about bad luck, if you’re good, you don’t hit the post, it goes in. Today we weren’t good enough where we were expected to be: In the forward areas.”

The French striker stormed off the interview when he was asked if he would be supporting Real Madrid in their semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Mbappe is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, and if Spanish media are to be believed, the deal is already done, and the club is set to announce soon after their Champions League campaign is over. Mbappe is also rumoured to have enquired about Sergio Ramos' €18 million home in the city.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, they have already secured their 36th La Liga title, and are just a game away from playing another Champions League final. There's no better club than Los Blancos for Mbappe to put an end to his quest for the European glory.
