2023 Toyota Innova Crysta Unveiled; Will Compete Against The Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo
Toyota Updates The Innova Crysta For 2023

The Crysta will now be sold only with a diesel powerplant

After launching the Hycross a couple of months ago, Toyota has now updated the Crysta for 2022. That’s right, the popular 7-seater MPV now gets a revised design and a manual diesel motor. While Toyota is yet to reveal the prices, bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

The 2023 Crysta will be offered in four different trims – G, GX, VX and ZX and come with some major design changes at the front. The new model now gets a squarer shaped grille at the front, with a dash of chrome elements now dominating the bumper. Apart from these two changes, the MPV largely remains the same.

Things on the inside are quite similar too, with the same layout and upholstery being carried over. It continues to be offered either as a seven-seater with captain seats or an eight-seater, with bench seats. Feature-wise, it sports the same eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. You also get an eight-way powered driver seat, keyless entry, ambient lighting and more. Meanwhile, safety is handled by up to seven air bags, ABS with ABD, ESC and hill-start assist.

Powering the updated Crysta will now be a 2.4-litre diesel engine which makes 150PS of power, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The earlier 2.7-litre petrol engine has sadly been discontinued. Although, Toyota does sell the Hycross with a petrol-only or a hybrid powertrain.

Prices of the facelift are expected to be revealed soon. However, we do not expect to see an exorbitant increase over its Rs 19.13 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag. Once launched, the Crysta will compete against the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
