The popular reality television host likes to keep his coffee dark, and his day exciting
No one understands the importance of a work-life balance better than Rannvijay Singha. When he isn’t on set, the sneaker-and-petrol head—his new electric Ultraviolette F77 is the stuff of serious envy—pumps hard and kicks back with his kids. It’s probably why the dude never seems to age.
The day routine at home is simple: spend as much time with the kids as possible, followed by a workout and shower. When I’m not with them, I’m traveling which means I’m working. I get up anywhere between 3-5 AM, depending on my flight. My black coffee is my constant. I’m sometimes fasting for 14 to 20 hours so then I only do black coffee and green tea for those number of hours.
A toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, beard oil, beard wash, trimmer, deodorant, a perfume, and a soap.
A beard wash and beard oil. I just use any moisturiser generally for my body, arms and legs. Some light wax for the hair.
For the day, I use ‘Ronin’ and in the night, there’s ‘Satan’— both are from Whiskers. They’re my current favourites.
I mostly try to play basketball or any other sport, and cycle to places even if I’m going for a meeting. I love playing the ultimate frisbee if I find my group of friends. If all of that doesn’t work, I go get a workout. I also like playing paddle if there’s a paddle court, or trying out a new activity. Even when I’m working, I try to get a sport or workout in during the day.
Quint, Hindustan Times, sometimes NDTV and Twitter definitely—it’s a good source of what’s happening currently in the world. Other than that, sometimes Reddit. But, when I’m not here, it’s BBC because that’s what I have access to.
Punjabi hip-hop, for sure. But when I’m dropping my daughter to school it’s usually some kids’ music, which is torturous in the morning. That is not my choice, but yes Kai sings along to her music and it’s really peppy for her early in the morning. Other than that, for early morning shoots, it’s Prateek Kuhad or anything nice and mellow. Punjabi hip-hop is actually my go-to music.
I’m actually re-reading a book. It’s Andre Agassi’s ‘Open’ and I’m going through it again because it’s super interesting.
The essentials: a charger, phone, and water.
A beard oil and a charcoal face wash. Definitely use a bit of moisturizer and sunscreen too. I don’t do more than that. For my hair, I just mess it up, with a light, soft, putty kind of wax. That’s it. But, my top grooming product would be a nice deodorant.
