Highest-Paid Women's Tennis Stars

Who's the richest?

The US Open 2024 is in full swing, throwing up many surprises in the first week itself. While the men's category so far too many upsets, the contenders for the women's championship have held their ground. Emma Navarro continued with her fine form to set up a tantalising semi-final date with tournament-favourite Aryna Sabalenka. Navarro comes from a family who owns the prestigious Cincinnati Open, with her parents' fortune in billions. Navarro, by some estimates, is richer than some of the most famous names like Maria Sharapova or Serena Williams. However, she is yet to make such fortunes from her game, though she has all the potential in the world. We look at some of the richest tennis stars in 2024.

Jessica Pegula

Jessica Pegula, who will be playing Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals of the US Open, has a net worth of USD 7.5 billion. Pegula's career blossomed pretty late, but she is not ready to concede any ground in the elite tennis now. She comes from an extremely rich family in the United States of America: her father Terry Pegula is a major player in the oil and gas industry, accumulating billions of fortune, and along with his wife Kim, is a principal shareholder of Buffalo Bills.

Serena Williams

In a glittering career that spanned almost three decades, Serena Williams obliterated many old records, scripted numerous new ones, and gave her an opportunity to become the player with the highest career earnings. Once she reached the peak of elite tennis, brand endorsement flowed like a deluge, shooting up her net worth to close to USD 350 million.

Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova bid adieu to the game long ago, but from very early on once she started winning championships, it was the glitz and glam that brought her worldwide fame. Sharapova didn't let that part distract her from the game, but showed great shrewdness to invest her money earned from tennis. Sharapova retired as one of the richest female athletes in the world, and her net worth in 2024 is over USD 220 million.

Venus Williams

Venus Williams' career might not have lasted as long as her more luminous sibling Serena, but she made a fortune for herself, earning over USD 100 million through career earnings and brand endorsements.
