Elon Musk Tweets About Buying Coca-Cola; The Internet Reacts
‘Buy Apple And Bring Back The Headphone Jack’: Users Respond To Elon Musk Tweet About Buying Coca-Cola

For perspective, Coca-Cola was valued at over $80 billion last year

After making the headlines for shelling out a whopping $44 billion on acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk seems to be gearing up for yet another bizarre takeover. The billionaire recently joked about acquiring Coca-Cola (which was valued at 87.6 billion in 2021) and putting cocaine back in it.

A little context for the unaware: Coca-Cola, which was first prepared by a pharmacist named Dr John Stith Pemberton in Georgia, US, on May 8, 1886, was said to have a few grams of cocaine for medicinal purposes.

Now back to Musk. There’s more. Soon after declaring his intentions of buying Coca-Cola, Musk posted a screenshot of an older tweet, which read, “Now I’m going to buy McDonald’s and fix all the ice cream machines,” and then responded to himself by saying, “Listen I can’t do miracles ok”.

The 50-year-old sure knows how to stay in the news. A few weeks ago, Musk bought a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, following which he was then invited to be a board member, which he later backed out of. Now, the billionaire has supposedly bought the micro-blogging site in its entirety for $44 billion.

This isn’t the first time Musk has made bizarre statements on Twitter and has acted on them. Back in November, he conducted a poll on whether he should sell 10 percent of his Tesla stock to pay for the unrealized capital gains. After 57 percent voted in favour of this, Musk sold nearly  $7 billion in Tesla shares.

We’ll be sure to keep up with Musk’s future antics. Until then, here’s how the internet reacted to the news of Elon buying Coca-Cola:
