Amanda Seyfried Talks About Her Career & Nude Scenes
‘I Wanted To Keep My Job’:Amanda Seyfried On Agreeing To Shoot Nude Scenes At 19

“Oh, I know why: I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anybody, and I wanted to keep my job. That’s why,” she revealed in a recent interview

The initial years of Amanda Seyfried‘s acting career were difficult to navigate. She made her debut with As the World Turns when she was fairly young and continued to work on different films and shows thereafter. While some roles demanded her to go nude, Seyfried now has no qualms in admitting that she chose to oblige back then for the sake of “keeping her job.”

The conversation arose when a discussion about intimacy coordinators happened. The Mamma Mia actress expressed how things would have been much better for her if they had intimacy coordinators back when she had just forayed into movies. Seyfried also opened up about being in tricky spots and being left with little option to say no.

“Being 19, walking around without my underwear on – like, are you kidding me? How did I let that happen?” Seyfried told Porter. “Oh, I know why: I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anybody, and I wanted to keep my job. That’s why,” she retorted.

This is not the first time that Seyfried has talked about being uncomfortable with doing something on-screen. Filming her iconic character from Mean Girls wasn’t a great experience either. She recalled how boys often came up to her for a weather forecast, as her character could predict rain using her breasts. “I was like 18 years old. It was just gross,” she told Marie Claire magazine.

The conversation about intimacy coaches arose soon after Game of Thrones actor Sean Bean opined how he wasn’t in favor of the concept of intimacy coordinators, as they “spoil the spontaneity” of the scenes. “I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise. It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” said Bean to The Times of London.
